Reminiscing on the bad decisions you’ve made

feeling like this state of mind will never fade

people telling you to move along

but still you feel what you’ve done was so so wrong

just wanting someone to be there to give you support

but instead all they say is forget about it because life is too short

wishing you had a chance to erase your past

and asking why the good times never seem to last

sitting in a room full of people yet feeling so alone

talking about one thing yet your mind is in another zone

they say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger

but all you can think about is that you can’t take all this pain any longer

wishing you could have a new start

and mend together all the pieces of your broken heart

were the mistakes you made unexpected

or was good thought about these situations neglected

either way life still goes on

and each year we end up with a new favorite song

the choices you make, make you

and judging from what iv seen this statement is O so true

Poetry expressing all these different emotions

sticking to the rhyme scheme strictly like its daily devotions

combining rhyme and expression

making sure that in this story there is an all important lesson

putting pen to paper as these thoughts occur

painting a vivid picture with which people can concur

your mind the best weapon for this war

having nothing to say you pull the trigger and there comes more

amazing that such a thing can happen

the pen and paper falling in love like a fatal attraction

simple words put together

able to bring about changes that can last forever

reading through each line

starting to feel that everything is going to be fine

this is what I write for

to bring people happiness and inform them of so much more

all of us having a different way of thinking

many people hurt from others so their hearts slowly sinking

change seeming far far away

but cheer up because tomorrow will be a better day

when you feel you are at the lowest you can get

the only direction you can go is up so don’t you get upset

Relationships

Relationships come and go

some go fast and some go slow

although some end up lasting forever

maybe this is because these relationships we do endeavor

this is a choice in life that we make

sometimes ending up disappointed finding that some friends are fake

but we gotta realize not everyone is perfect

and we gotta put our efforts in the relationships we believe are worth it

we have to realize we all have some issues

and now is not the time to run for the nearest box of tissues

we are all unique and are individually gifted

its just sometimes in life problems come along that need to be shifted

if this act of wisdom we can achieve

then in our most difficult relationships we will start to believe

we each have one life no replay

so we need to enjoy it always having something good to say

Little Girl

Looking into the eyes of this pretty young girl

wondering what she thinks of this big crazy world

where she comes from has no good

going through each day she does the best that she could

hoping that this world she can someday change

slowly her life she starts to rearrange

she starts to get good grades in school

still her parents neglect her efforts and call her a fool

now we would think that’s where it all ends

but there’s much more to this story my friends

next her dad leaves the house

then her mother too in search of a new spouse

she is left alone with her big brother

forced the two of them have to look after each other

the brother provides for them throughout each year

but due to the pain he finds a friend named beer

thinking this would solve it all

he doesn’t realize this is his biggest fall

a solution to this problem he’s got to find

trying to get all of these sad thoughts out of his mind

where there is a will there is a way

here comes his sister with something to say

wise words flow out of her mouth like a fountain

she tells him that they are almost at the top of this mountain

she lets him know that a change is coming

and tells him that he needs to stop running

this hits him like a whirlwind

he falls down to his knees and says Lord please forgive me for I have sinned

the next morning he awakes with a new idea

he takes a walk to the bank beginning to conquer his fear

he takes out a loan to pay his sister’s school fees

walking home he see’s his friend and tells him to stop smoking dem trees

he finally learns what it means to be a man

his sister goes through school and does the best that she can

this is a new chapter in each of their lives

no more dodging bullets and ducking emotional knives

they were destined to find a way

and yes the loan big brother took out he did pay

this pretty young girl graduated with all A’s

and finally found her way out of this insane maze

the odds for them to lose were as high as the sky

yet they kept fighting each day and we wonder why

the moral of the story is to never give up

push through the pain and you’ll end up with a full cup

We all gather to praise His holy Name

but when its all over everything remains the same

people all go their separate way

and journey through yet another day

praying and hoping for a miracle

trying our best to believe that most people aren’t that cynical

everyone having a different view on life

every man searching for the perfect wife

so many thoughts flowing through one’s mind

debating whether to be selfish or kind

which way of living will bring me success

is the choice I just made the best

is success all I really want for me

or should I just live life and let things be

moms and dads working hard to provide for their young

while another young man just purchased a gun

why these different intentions

why are people constantly looking for the latest inventions

the new turning into the old so quick

girls running to watch the newest chick flick

one man searching the trash for food

while another complaining to his friend that this life’s no good

unfortunately there isn’t an answer to every question

and life continues to be a never ending investigation

FIll in the blanks

Life can be like filling in the blanks

investing what you value in a bunch of different banks

giving up what you have to make more

but what for

is it to please yourself

or to arrogantly express your wealth

are those the only reasons

and does change come with the seasons

this we can only find out in time

and achieving a different end result than someone else is not a crime

that is the uniqueness of this life as an individual

changing things around or keeping it original

these decisions are up to you

whether you see the sky as grey or if you think it’s blue

pick up your pencil and start writing

forget about being perfect and come up with something exciting

find something that inspires you and work with that

you are capable of much more than you think and that’s a fact

Butterfly

Lying still in this little cocoon

my time to fly is coming soon

what awaits me out there

will it be things which I love and for which I would care

filled with intrigue for what is to come

as anxious as a drunk man would be for his bottle of rum

there are others too that share this same feeling

the cocoon our bodies slowly revealing

we have been enclosed in this shell for far too long

wanting to burst out before our time which could be fatally wrong

so we wait a while longer

building and growing we start to get stronger

finally this great day has arrived

and this long enduring wait we have survived

all this anxiety we had to endure

finally over and now with our wings we can soar

The Box Of Emotions

The Box of emotions

We each have this box of emotions

different feelings stored up like some potions

at times we look for that bottle of joy

for that feeling of grief to destroy

but it is hard for this feeling of sadness to go away

yet so easy for us to be led astray

we have all these questions bubbling inside

just wanting to end this terrible ride

we wonder if there is any way out 

or if we will forever be lost and wandering about

different thoughts coming to us each and everyday

still wondering if all this pain will go away

for some there is more joy than pain

some with all the answers and others feeling insane

there seems to be no balance in this box of emotions

drifting away slowly throughout different oceans

people wishing to trade their lives with others

while issues are being sorted out between brothers

peace seeming like the impossible 

and this sad reality seeming like a never ending obstacle

no amount of money can take away this struggle

is there a pin big enough to burst this big ugly bubble?

Sunshine so good and warm in the morn

mothers and fathers reminiscing on that all important day that you were born

beautiful shade found under the trees

warm and sweet honey provided by the buzzing bees

flowers blooming now in the spring

feelings of wonder about what this day could bring

walking through the streets feeling a cool breeze blow

this day feeling like a tv show

the day drawing near to an end

like driving towards an upcoming bend

looking out your window you see the sunset

and all your troubles in life you do forget

you are thankful for this beautiful day

and thank you Lord is the last thing you have to say

sweet dreams enter your mind

lost in your thoughts searching for a key to a door you cannot find

Dreams

Dreams are something I’m pretty sure we all share

and most of us know that life is unfair

despite the fact that this is what most of us believe

these dreams of ours we still look to achieve

each of us sacrificing things we care about

to beat the struggle and find a way out

within each of us there is that drive

feelings inside that make us feel so alive

what is this feeling that keeps us going

that feeling that makes our outward appearance look like we are glowing

all of us working to achieve some goal in life

fighting for survival trying to avoid all the strife

where do we get this motivation

and why do we suffer with so much segregation

yet still through all this we try to excel

throwing a coin into the big wishing well

hoping that these wishes come true

and dreaming of the day of becoming a better you

will you change the world or remain the same

doing your best to complete this difficult game

there aren’t too many though that make it to the top

it’s usually the ones that are willing to work non stop

in the end it’s all up to you how far in life you will go

whether it will be a boring tv episode or an unforgettable show.
